This month, MINT Dentistry has fed over 2,000 families in the DFW metroplex (and counting!) with the help of our friends at Minnie’s Food Pantry through weekend Grocery Giveaways—and we’re not stopping anytime soon. These giveaways have even caught the attention of Fox 4 News! We couldn’t be more humbled and thankful for the number of volunteers and donors who are making all of this possible.
As a result of the effects of COVID-19 on our economy and nation, one out of every six families in America is struggling with food insecurity. The global pandemic has put many individuals and businesses out of work and many are in need of weekly groceries and lacking the resources they need to feed their children.
When we heard these statistics, we knew we needed to do something. So, we partnered with our friend Cheryl Jackson and Minnie’s Food Pantry to host Drive-Thru Grocery Giveaways at various MINT Dentistry locations around the DFW metroplex to provide food for the thousands of families in need right in our own communities.
The first week we fed over 450 families at our Cedar Hill office and ran out of groceries well before noon. Hundreds of families began showing up at 8am to wait in line for hours to receive a box of groceries and basic necessities that we can all take for granted at times. That’s when I realized just how great this need is—and how important it is that we give back to our community at this time.
The next weekend, we prepared to give more and were honored to serve 600 households in Oak Cliff in the pouring rain and then another 600 in South Arlington and Cedar Hill the following two weeks. (I’m beyond proud and thankful for our MINT Dentistry staff and volunteers who were willing to stand outside for hours, soaking wet, to serve their neighbors. I applaud you all! Thank you!)
Thanks to our incredible staff, volunteers, and donors, hundreds of hungry families are now being fed. Serving our city alongside my own family has brought so much joy to my life and I’ve come to realize that a disaster of this magnitude requires the response of a united group of people with hearts ready to serve, care, and give of themselves for the needs of another. It has also given me the opportunity to show my own children the power of generosity and how they can make a difference in the lives of others, even at such a young age.
Our family is incredibly honored to serve our city and we are planning to feed hundreds more in the weekends and months to come. The virus, nor the pouring rain can stop us from loving and serving the people God has laid on our hearts and in our path.

  • Drive-thru style pick-up (just pop your trunk for touch-less delivery!).
  • There will be minimal to no contact with our team. (We’re following the CDC social distancing requirements very closely!).
