Fashion week is one of my favorite weeks of the year—and this year was no different. I love seeing the diverse street styles and fashion shows and being inspired by the outstanding creativity and imagination of some of the most artistically talented individuals on the planet.
Grateful I was able to spend the week with my friend and talented stylist, Kristin Smith with The Clad Life. We stayed at the Plaza Hotel Athénée and attended incredible shows from Balmain, Y/PROJECT, Giambattista Valli, and visited the showroom after the iconic Alexander McQUEEN show at the beautiful Carreau du Temple. But my favorites were the CHANEL show at the Grand Palais and watching North West’s rap debut at Kanye’s Yeezy Season 8 show.
We also attended a Dolce & Gabbana fitting and visited the Maison Schiaparelli Couture House and met creative artistic designer and Dallas native, Daniel Roseberry. He is an incredibly talented designer who spent over a decade working at Thom Browne before Schiaparelli. (And, of course, I loved his teeth-inspired collection of necklaces and bracelets because of our MINT #SEXYTEETH campaign!)
Overall, we had a beautiful trip to Paris. It was quick—but packed full of incredible shows, fittings, and meals. Paris is home to some of the world’s best restaurants and my favorites from this trip included the Ritz Hotel breakfast and morning tea, lunch at Monsieur Bleu and Hotel Costes, and dinner at Caviar Kaspia (get the signature dish: potatoes with caviar—delicious!) and Le Bar des Prés (if you go, try the spinach salad and crab tuna thin tostada dish!).
Paris will forever be one of my favorite destinations to visit—especially during fashion week. I loved seeing all the upcoming spring and summer fashion trends and feeling inspired to create new interior designs for the new offices opening up at MINT—but grateful to be back at home, safe with my family after a wonderful week.
