HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY, CAMILA ROSE!

My baby girl turned 5 this month!

I love watching Camila grow. I love her fun personality, her excitement for life, and the joy that spills out of her. She continues to amaze us and makes me so proud!

This year, we celebrated Camila’s birthday with a mermaid-themed party and a small gathering of friends and family at the house. We had BBQ, grilled burgers on the patio, rented a big bounce house for the kids, and everyone swam in the pool. It was a perfect outdoor summer party!

Despite the need to have a smaller party because of social distancing, we had a great time. Camila loves spending time with her cousins and the kids had a blast going up and down the bounce house waterslide all afternoon. (This, and the pool are the best activities for outdoor parties in the Texas summer heat!) They could swim and play on the bounce house all day and never get tired of it.

It was great to catch up with the friends and family who were able to come. I’ve missed throwing large gatherings so much and it was so good to see and spend time with people again!

My kids are my greatest joy and this season has been hard, but one we will never forget as a family because it has given us so much quality time together. Nothing has taught me about the heart of our heavenly Father like being a mom. I will never be a perfect parent, but I will always be a praying parent. Prayer is my highest privilege and priority as a mom (and aunt) so I wanted to end this post by sharing a prayer from my heart for our kids:

Father God, please keep our children safe and guard their hearts and minds. Keep their eyes fixed on You. May they see Your love reflected in our lives. Bless our children to hear Your voice above all others, and to find their purpose and passions early in life. May they never stop pursuing You and the gifts and talents You have given them. May You protect them, guide them, and bless them. Help me to unlock their greatest potential for Your glory, in Jesus’ Name—Amen!
