My Spiritual Must-Haves

Zondervan –  Women’s Devotional Bible
The Bible is the greatest book ever written! Reading the Bible first thing in the morning helps prepare my mind and emotions for the rest of my day. It equips my heart to deal with difficulties and disappointments, and encourages my spirit with the truth of God’s love. The Zondervan Women’s Devotional Bible is an incredible resource that has really helped me apply God’s Word to my  life. I enjoy the full year of devotions written by women of God that bring insight and inspiration. The reading plans are also helpful because you can choose the plan that best fits your time, schedule and reading goals. It is also written in the NIV Translation, making it easier to read and understand.

John Maxwell – Maxwell Leadership Bible
This is the Bible my husband is currently reading. It has helped him reach new levels of success in faith and business. John Maxwell shares many leadership qualities and lessons based on scriptures that have helped my husband become a better leader. This Bible is a great resource for anyone in leadership or business.

Elizabeth George – A Woman After God’s Own Heart
Put God first, everything else follows. God wants to give us the desires of our hearts, but He also wants us to recognize that it is His strength in each of us that brings about change. I encourage you to let Jesus Christ be at the forefront of your thoughts and the guide of your heart. He promises to put everything else into place (Matthew 6:33).

Bishop T.D. Jakes – Destiny: Step Into Your Purpose
Bishop Jakes is “one of the nation’s most popular evangelists, and quite possibly the smartest.” (USA Today) This book is definitely one of my favorites from him. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone and into the calling God has for my life.

Rick Warren – The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?
This book is a must-read for anyone wanting to grow in their faith. It is a simple read that helps you see the big picture of what life is all about and begin to live the life God created you to live.

Sarah Young – Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence
As a busy mom, I really enjoy this mini, daily devotional. This book has been such an inspirational tool in my daily walk with Jesus because no matter how busy I am, these short devotionals prepare my heart to receive His peace everyday.

Elizabeth George – A Wife After God’s Own Heart: 12 Things That Really Matter in Your Marriage
This is a great, practical guide on how to be a godly wife and is full of biblical wisdom and insight on marriage. I read this book from cover to cover two months before meeting my husband as I was intentionally preparing myself for the future man of my dreams, and praying to be the best wife one day. Coming from a divorced home, I didn’t really know what “a healthy marriage” looked like. This book blessed me in countless ways.

Harry H Harrison, Jr. – 1001 Things it Means to Be a Mom: (the Good, the Bad, and the Smelly)
This sweet and fun read is from the “1001 Things” series, and is my favorite gift for expectant and new mommies. You will love the short, insightful, humorous advice on mommyhood. No one knows how to deliver such simple, powerful insights like my talented, brilliant papa-in-love, who did an incredible job raising the man of my dreams. I always prayed for my future family, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine God bringing me such a godly, beautiful family to call my own.

Craig Hill – The Power of a Parent’s Blessing: See Your Children Prosper and Fulfill Their Destinies in Christ
This book explains the power of blessing your children and speaking affirming words into their lives. Of all the tools God gives us to raise our children, the privilege and authority to speak blessings over them is the most powerful. I’ve learned how to to impart blessings on my babies in such a powerful way.

Joyce Meyer – Battlefield of the Mind: Winning the Battle in Your Mind
I can’t stress enough how important this book is to everyone in their walk with God. Change your life by changing your mind. Everything starts in your mind. This book helps you overcome doubt, worry, depression and fear. It also teaches you how to pray.

These are a few of my favorite things!
