We recently celebrated my Father-in-Love, the grandfather of my babies, the Chief of MINT Marketing, and best-selling author, Harry Harrison’s 70th Birthday!
If you know Harry, you love him—and you know he is worth celebrating.
Since Harry was turning 70 this year, we decided it would be appropriate to take him back to the 70’s. The party was held at the Dallas House of Blues and designed to feel like a rock concert with Harry being the star of the show. His picture was featured, shining in lights on the marquee outside as we all walked up to the concert hall.
As guests entered through the doors, they were handed wristbands and concert tickets marked, “HARRY HARRISON WORLD TOUR ’70.” Harry’s co-workers at MINT Marketing took the party to a new level by designing a merch table with vintage posters and distressed band t-shirts—all plastered with the Harry Harrison World Tour-inspired designs. (THANK YOU to Chris, Frank, & Brennan for all you did to make this incredibly special!)
And of course, it wouldn’t have been a rock concert without a rock band—so Harry’s friends, Spector’s Gun Collection, came out to play live music all night (with DJ Clipp during the band breaks).
I loved watching Harry being celebrated by his closest friends and family. It was so special to listen to Field honor his dad during his speech. I know Field is the incredible man and father that he is today because of the example Harry has displayed all his life.
We danced all night and I’ve never seen Harry happier than when we were singing as he blew out the candles on his Rolling Stones birthday cake (a delicious carrot cake…his favorite).
Happy 70th birthday to the man, the myth, the legend himself! We adore you so much and I’m so blessed to call you my Father in Love!
