July |dʒʊˈlʌɪ| noun1 the seventh month of the year, in the northern hemisphere usually considered the second month of summer: They celebrated the 4th of July with fireworks!

I hope you all enjoyed a beautifully sunny, fireworks-filled Independence Day!

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays to gather friends and family for swimming, grilling, and just enjoying the Texas, summer sun. Our family and friends spent the day poolside, grilling burgers and watching our kids splash around in the water–only taking breaks for Steel City Pops and pizza.

My stepdad and Field grilled beef and turkey burgers, while I catered side salads and appetizers from Central Market and ordered pepperoni pizza for the kids. Delicious, patriotic red velvet and vanilla cupcakes were ordered from Cakes by Alicia. Our drink table was loaded with Arnold Palmers, sangria and mojitos–keeping everyone hydrated! *grin*

Camila was so cute in her red and white striped swimming suit, and had so much fun swimming with her cousins until bedtime. She is growing up so fast! Baby Field played catch with his friends, jumping into the pool over and over and over again! He has so much energy!

Steel City Pops popsicles were the perfect, cool-down snack for the kids (and for the adults!). We ordered several flavors to try, all in red, white and blue: strawberry lemonade, coconut and blueberry. My favorite flavor was the Strawberry Lemonade and Coconut, which I shared with Camila because it was melting so fast in the summer heat!

Though it was warm, the weather was absolutely perfect for a pool party, and we enjoyed every last ray of sunshine until the sun set. After dark, we gathered the kids and brought everyone upstairs to watch the fireworks from our balcony. (The kids were so tired from swimming all day, they could hardly keep their eyes open!)

It was a perfectly, magical day and I am so grateful for our friends, family and the Independence of our great nation. I am truly grateful!

God bless America!

XO-

Sabrina
