Easter |ˈēstər| noun the most important and oldest festival of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and held (in the Western Church) between March 21 and April 25, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox. Happy Easter Weekend from the Harrison household!

Spring is in the air and tomorrow is Easter Sunday! I wanted to wish each of you an early celebration, and send you an invitation to join a church service near you if you are looking for somewhere to go in the Dallas area!

Easter is the greatest celebration in the Christian faith because we are celebrating the very reason we are welcomed into God’s family! God loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us. But He didn’t just die, He rose again on the third day to conquer sin and death for good—and to bring new life to everyone on earth.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

This is possibly the most well known, and most powerful scripture in the Bible. It is because of God’s LOVE for humanity that He chose to send His Son to the earth as a sacrifice for our sin.

If you have been out of church for a long time, or even if you’ve never attended a service in your life—Easter is the perfect opportunity to start! This is when believers from all over the world gather together to celebrate the foundation of our faith: the gift of grace.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

God loves you so much and wants to have a relationship with you. You are the very reason He sent His Son. No matter how long you’ve been out of church, and no matter what you have done… the offer still stands. You’re invited into a blessed life full of love, purpose, peace, and hope.
