When I think of velvet, I automatically think of Christmas time. But because of the rich texture that velvet has, I strongly believe that it can go beyond winter. While going to a few fashion shows in New York, I noticed a few of my favorite spring 2017 runways have velvet textiles intended for warmer weather.  If you noticed in a previous post, Alice and Olivia for instance had many velvet pieces in their upcoming spring collection. Whether it was velvet floral tops, or crushed velvet boots such as the ones I’m wearing, it looks as though velvet is still having a moment.

Now I don’t think I will be wearing a velvet dress any time soon, however, these cute ankle boots go with so many looks.  The key is to wear them with not so heavy fabrics. They give a Coachella festival vibe without trying too hard. It’s all about embracing your inner 70’s flower child.  Not to mention, the blush pink color tone is perfect for Spring! Velvet is such a luxe fabric that it is bound to make a statement!

I paired these boots with this throw over button up dress. This is seriously one of my favorite pieces because it is perfect to wear on the go.  It is so comfortable that I wear it all the time! Whether I pair it with a pair of sneakers like these, or some lace up sandals, I know that this dress always comes in handy.

Lastly, I want to tell you about this amazing bag! For a while now, I have been looking for a reptile textured bag! If you have been reading my blog for some time, you have probably noticed that I am a huge cross body fan.  When I saw this bag, I knew I had to have it! India Hicks is  a lifestyle brand that carries such adorable things! You should check them out!

If you dare to wear velvet in the upcoming season, don’t overthink it!  Just simply go out and be confident, and if you’re in Texas, pray for strong air conditioning and a good breeze. LOL

XO-
Sabrina
