Las Vegas |las ˈveɪgəs| a city in southern Nevada; pop. 558,383 (est. 2008). It is noted for its casinos and nightclubs.

Sometimes you just need a little weekend getaway, and for us–the perfect place to escape to is: Las Vegas.

Las Vegas has always been a fun trip because the flights from Dallas are quick and cheap. However, I did have enough time in the plane on the way there and back to finish the “Don’t Settle for Safe” book by Sarah Jakes Roberts. I heard her speak at the Potter’s House a few weeks back and immediately bought the book. It is so good. After reading it, I listened to the audiobook to refresh my spirit. If you’re looking for a great read (or listen) on embracing your pain to find your purpose in life–I highly recommend this book or audiobook.

We decided to go on this trip to Las Vegas to attend the Mayweather vs. McGregor “Money Fight” last weekend. This was known as the fight of the century, and you could feel the thrill and excitement permeating throughout the entire building at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

Floyd Mayweather is an undefeated eleven-time five-division boxing champion, and his opponent, Conor McGregor, really held his own. Watching the fight in person was so incredible, and I’m so glad I was able to see the champ, Floyd Mayweather, win his last fight in the 10th round!

We stayed at the beautiful Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas for the weekend, and enjoyed relaxing with couples massages at the spa, and laying by the poolside to FaceTime the kids back home (I love this quality time with Field, but I always miss my babies!). If you ever stay here, make sure to try the lunch at Holsteins. I ate the tuna salad and tuna tostadas.  I highly recommend!!

Another favorite stop in Vegas is the Clique Bar and Lounge. They are famous for their tableside mixology, music and craft cocktails. I love the atmosphere and the appetizers from the award-winning chef, Brian Massie. If you go–ask for my friend BJ from Laredo, and tell him Sabrina sent you!

After a great weekend away, I always enjoy coming home to my babies. Field Christian is starting school, and Camila is growing up, more and more each day (it’s hard to keep her out of my make-up drawer!). I hope you are all enjoying the end of your summers and the start of a beautiful Fall!

XO-
Sabrina
