path |pɑːθ| noun: the course or direction in which a person or thing is moving: She stayed the path.

I was so honored to have met Bobbie Houston at a lady’s luncheon at Grange Hall (hosted by the brilliant literary agent, Jan Miller) in Dallas to celebrate her newest book release, Stay the Path. Bobbie and her husband, Brian, pastor a large church in Sydney, Australia called, Hillsong, and have been involved in ministry since they were in their early twenties.

Stay the Path is a book created to encourage believers to “stay the path”, whether they are fresh on the journey or growing tired from years of travel. It will help you to find beauty in every season of life, even the most challenging ones. We all need to be reminded to keep our eyes off the winding, difficult road ahead of us, and to keep our focus on the destination: Living a life that is pleasing to our Heavenly Father.

“Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.” Ephesians 4:1

The day of the book release, I was surrounded by some of the most influential women of faith who shared their hearts and stories, including Serita Jakes, who I will forever love and admire. Every single woman there has a special place in my heart, and I admire how each of these ladies are effectively impacting the communities around them and using their platforms to glorify God–growing heaven on earth. It was such a beautiful afternoon, with beautiful women.

Bobbie is a gem. She is a beautiful leader–kind, warmhearted, tender and full of God’s spirit. She is the kind of woman who makes you feel like you’ve been friends forever. Within minutes of meeting, she was hugging, laughing and joking with each of us. Such a sweet spirit! There is something so special about leaders in ministry who are able to make others feel accepted as sisters and daughters. I loved reading her book this month, and getting to know her heart for the Lord and understanding the shaping of her character through struggles and challenges caused by ministry and life.

This book is directed toward women in leadership, and Bobbie believes all women are called to some level of leadership within the Church. Navigating your life as a leader can be somewhat daunting, but the pages in this book help to define specific purpose and calling–encouraging individuals to “stick to it”.

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up!” Galatians 6:9

Bobbie and Brian do such an incredible job of teaching believers how to love God, love people and still enjoy the journey! I know you will find incredible encouragement through the pages of this book, and hope it will challenge you to understand your God-given potential as you step into leading with confidence and grace!

I have fallen in love with Bobbie’s heart and character as I’ve read the pages of her book, and you will too. I know her stories will encourage you to “stay the path” as you continue your journey, walking with Christ! If you haven’t purchased the book yet, click the link here to get your own copy!
