Olive is definitely one of my favorite colors. As you can tell from previous posts, I have quite a lot of it in my wardrobe. To me, it is chic, and so simple to pair with different ensembles. I treat it as a neutral sometimes. However, on this occasion, I am wearing it as the focal point of my entire look. Well, lets be honest, my lip color is the focal point, and the olive is just an added bonus!
My favorite makeup artist, Desiree Chapman, has always tried to push me out of my comfort zone. When it comes to makeup, she always wants me to try new things. I have always been a fan of pink and light color tones on my lips. I personally have never really liked deep red lips on myself. However, today she wanted me to try this deep berry color. I have to admit that I was hesitant at first, but when she put it on me, I fell in love. For the first time, I really liked the way this oxblood color looked on me! I guess I just needed a little push to get me out of my everyday routine!
Since my makeup was the first thing to be done, I wanted to wear an outfit that wasn’t too loud when I walked out the door. This jacket is amazing and so comfortable. It will definitely be a staple piece for the fall. When I bought it, I pictured wearing it to the airport, out grocery shopping, etc. You can pair it with jeans and a t shirt, or do what I did and wear a loose button down dress and boots. If you’re in Texas and it gets too hot, tie it around your waist and you’re good to go!
I love these boots. Field actually bought them for me last year before a trip to Vancouver. It was way too icy for me to be in heels, so I wore them as soon as I got back to Dallas!
I love layering and think a jacket like this should be a part of everyone’s wardrobe! If you’re like me when it comes to makeup, try something a little different this fall. Go a shade darker than you’re used to! You just might love it!
