limit |ˈlɪmɪt| noun 1 a point or level beyond which something does not or may not extend or pass: She served a limitless God.

It is so easy for us to set limitations on our lives when we have been hurt, disappointed or when we are just tired of the day-to-day, mundane routine. We set limits when we don’t believe that the hopes and dreams we once had will ever come true. We lose faith when our marriage is falling apart, and we don’t see a way to make it better. We can become overwhelmed by debt and can’t see a way out.

These are just a few examples of ways that we live within limitations, thinking and believing that things can’t change.

But, as Christians, we need to remember that we serve a limitless God. We serve the God who parted the Red Sea so His people could walk across on dry land to escape their oppressors. This is the God who raised people from the dead and healed the blind with just a word or a touch. This is the God who raised Himself from the grave after being crucified for the sins of the world, and then confidently stated that those who believed in Him would do greater things than even He did! Thats you, and me.

So, why do we insist on living ordinary, limited lives–just “getting through” or “barely hanging on”? We are children of the most high God. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. This God, who says His power and love reside in those who believe in Him. Us, again!

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11

We need to learn to take the limits off and see things not as they are in the natural, but how they are in the supernatural. We have a limited perspective as humans, and need to ask God to open our spiritual eyes to be able to see our problems the way He does. Just because we don’t see a way, doesn’t mean that He doesn’t have a way.

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” Mark 11:23

I want to encourage you to live your life without limiting the God you serve. Don’t allow your fears or doubts limit what God wants to do in and through you. Trust that He loves you and wants to bless you, abundantly. Believe Him for the supernatural and miraculous, and watch what He can do!
