My Morning Smoothie

Every morning, I try my best to get all my greens in before the day starts going. This recipe is full of super foods that will give you so much energy throughout the day! It has all the important things needed to provide a healthy and balanced snack.

Side note: my two-year old LOVES my smoothies, and has no idea he’s eating spinach. Mom win!

1 banana
1/2 grapefruit (optional)
1 cup frozen berries (raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, etc)
1 large handful of fresh spinach
1 large handful of kale
1/2 cup coconut or almond milk (Almond milk is my favorite, but coconut milk is great for this recipe too)
1/2 avocado (optional)
1 tablespoon of chia or hemp seeds

Remember to wash and rinse all ingredients before chopping and cutting. Peel and cut banana, grapefruit, spinach, kale and avocado–add to blender. Pour in frozen berries, coconut or almond milk and the chia or hemp seeds. Blend for several minutes until smooth (optional: add a cup of ice if desired). Pour into a glass, and enjoy the yummiest way to eat your greens!
