night |nʌɪt|noun1 the period from sunset to sunrise in each twenty-four hours: a moonlit night
My heart is still bursting from my “Noche en Blanco” birthday party celebration! I am convinced that I have the greatest friends and family in the world, and I could not be happier with the party and with how my all-white ensemble turned out!
I wore this dress by Johanna Ortiz. I love the huge one sided ruffle detail! It was the perfect party dress!
I also wanted to share my evening make-up look with you for my Saturday lifestyle blog post. My good friend, Desiree Chapman always puts together the perfect look for me and uses the best products to make me look flawless for every occasion and outing. Here is what she used last night for my Noche en Blanco party!
Des always starts every look by priming my clean face. My recent favorite is the Skin Balancing Primer, Peach Glow by Tom Ford. I love how this line keeps my face looking fresh all night–without having to reapply!
Priming and concealing are an important step that a lot of people want to skip. Des has taught me how to cover blemishes and dark spots by using orange-based primers to neutralize dark spots, and green and yellow concealers to correct and cancel out redness or areas with blemishes.
After we prime and conceal, we use the Natural Waterproof Foundation by Tom Ford to blend everything together. I have only been using this foundation for a week now, and I don’t know that I will ever use anything else. I’ve always struggled with needing to reapply makeup throughout the night, but this waterproof line keeps my makeup in place for hours! Stop into one of their stores and try it for yourself–you won’t be disappointed!
HIGHLIGHTS AND DETAILS
Des used a Dainty Brush by Mac to apply my Violet Voss Shadow Palette, using Holy Grail as the color of choice for last night. I thought the deep colors made my eyes pop, and really brought the all-white look together. We used the Supberp Highlighter by Mac to enhance and highlight.
My favorite part of this particular look was the lip. I generally wear a nude or pink lip color, but we used a darker, Berry Me Dose of Color Lipstick with a Bloodroses Lip Liner by Kevyn Aucoin so I didn’t look washed out. This color brought my entire ensemble together, and it stayed on all night!
I want to say a big, “THANK YOU” to my husband and all of our friends who came and made my birthday so special. Thank you to Des for always making me look and feel so beautiful! You are such an incredibly talented makeup artist and a friend for life!
May this year be the best one yet! Cheers to 36!
