invest |inˈvest| verb1 [no object] expend money with the expectation of achieving a profit or material result by putting it into financial schemes, shares, or property, or by using it to develop a commercial venture: She invested in her child’s future.

I hope all the mothers out there enjoyed a great Mother’s Day with all of your families last week!

We’ve been enjoying this beautiful Texas weather this week. I walked to the park with my kids the other day after work, and as I watched them play, I realized how quickly they are growing up. Baby Field is no longer a baby… He just had his Pre-K Graduation today! We were so proud!  Camila is quickly growing out of her baby stage too, and cares more about wearing my shoes and lipstick than she does anything else!

I cherish the time I have with my kids right now, but I know they will continue to grow quickly, and before I know it—they will be looking at colleges and schools for their future aspirations. So this year, Field and I decided to invest in our children’s future by putting money away, slowly, for their future college education.
My mom was a single mother raising my siblings and me, working several jobs to pay the bills at home. She wasn’t able to help me with my college degree, but by the time my little brother went to college, she was able to pay for all of his schooling because of the Texas Tomorrow Fund. This fund allows you to invest in your child’s future by putting away money and locking in today’s tuition cost.
Tuition costs rise each year, and students are having a hard time paying them off. But if you invest in the Texas Tomorrow Fund, they will lock in today’s college tuition costs for your child’s future education. You can pay a little at a time, or pay the whole tuition cost up front—but I believe investing in the future of your child’s education is one of the most important things you can do with your money. Even putting a little bit of money away now, will add up to a lot when your child gets to the age when they are ready to pursue a career.
I love to invest in my children’s lives while figuring out what they love to do, or what their talents are. Putting money away for their future education is just part of that investment. We have been talking to Field Christian and Camila about their college savings account, and it is a way to ask them what they dream of being when they grow up! (Right now, Baby Field only wants to be a basketball player haha!)
I want to encourage you to start a savings account, or to look into the Texas Tomorrow Fund for your children or grandchildren. It will save you money in the future, and help you to invest in something very worthwhile—the life of your child!
I know my brother was so grateful my mom was able to do this for him. And I’m so glad I’m able to do the same for my kids.
XO-
Sabrina
