What a wonderful night with my husband, best friend and Equipped by Faith’s first-time male speaker, Dr. Field Harrison! Last night, men and women gathered to hear the heart of my favorite person on the planet. I was so happy so many of you were able to see what made me fall in love with this man years ago, and the Godly faith and character that has kept me falling more in love with him each day.

Field is a faithful husband, father and an incredibly talented entrepreneur, CEO and businessman. He encouraged all of us last night with his stories of God’s unending faithfulness through his life, our company and our ministry endeavors. We believe God has called us to bridge the gap between the business world and the church, and we continue to be amazed by God’s provision in this area each day of our lives.

I was so blessed by the friends and family who joined us last night, and those who stand beside us as we walk through this life together. I know we were all encouraged by Field’s knowledge of the business world–but even more so, by the God-given wisdom and character he displays in his life.

If you missed last night, check out his interview below and the podcast here. I know you will be inspired and encouraged by what he shared!

Q&A with Dr. Field Harrison

1. What do you think you were put on this earth for? What is your biggest dream?
I was put on this earth to reflect Christ, to marry Sabrina, to have my kids and to start MINT. I was called to be a dentist, called to preach, and called to be a leader. But to be honest, my professional reality is far more than I could have ever asked for or thought of–and I am incredibly humbled by it.

2. What are some of the obstacles or challenges you have had to go through to get to this point in life?
This is a question that could take more room than I have time to write. But having to sacrifice friends and time, and fun, to study for years on faith when my grades weren’t good was the biggest challenge.

3. What motivates/inspires you?
I love who I get to work with. They inspire me. I love what I get to do. The challenge of it inspires me.  It’s a privilege for me to be in the position I am in. I have many employees whom I’ve never met, and friends who I get to work with–those I am called to lead, who depend on me–that inspires me.  But I love what I do. It’s really amazing, because the love of it inspires me the most- and that is from the Holy Spirit.

4. What do you want to be remembered by?
I want to be known and remembered for being a God-Fearing man.

5. What advice would you give other women and men searching for their purpose, passion & faith?
If you remain God-Fearing, and discipline yourself in faith toward your purpose and toward your passion, then your mind will be blown by how your life turns out. But bottom line, if God told you to do something, you should throw everything you have at that thing. He called me to be a dentist, and so I’ve put everything I am into being the best dentist I can possibly be–for Him and for His Kingdom. And God has blown my mind.

6. What has been your greatest achievement in life?
Becoming a dentist. For me, it was a long, long, long, long shot. A miracle, really. I was never good at memorizing. If people only knew how God will use and perfect your weakness for His glory… I grew up doubting myself intellectually for the vast majority of my life. God knows I give Him all the credit for where I am today. And I am not just saying that, I believe that. God makes me look way smarter than I am, because He does all the work through me. And I give all of the glory to Him–I pray that I always will.

7. How does what you do reflect ministry, what God placed on your heart to share with the world?
Thankfully, what I do is to help heal teeth and make people feel better about their smile. Part of my ministry is dentistry. But what I want to share with other people about God changes with time. I think right now, God is looking to show the world His strength. I also think I am a walking testimony of seeing His promises come to fruition. And nothing has taught me more about leadership than Christ.

8. What books are you currently reading?
I am reading the Bible almost at all times, but I am also reading Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell.

9. How do you stay encouraged & faith filled?
I am encouraged because I feel like a fighter whose hardest fights are behind him. I sure hope they are.  But I have seen the power of faith, and I hope my faith never takes a downturn. God amazes me so much, making good of some of the worst situations. I am in awe over His plan for me. I now expect miracles when terrible things happen (and they continue to occur). Being fed by one of the best preachers of all time, Bishop T.D. Jakes, is an added bonus for my faith. If faith was competition I would expect to finish first–by His grace.

10. Favorite Scripture of the moment?
2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” God has shown Himself strong on my behalf more times than I can count, I can only hope that my heart is perfect toward Him…

I love this man so much! I hope you are all encouraged and inspired today by experiencing a little bit of the heart and character I get to see each day.

See you all next month, at Equipped by Faith!

XO-
Sabrina
