jade 1 |dʒeɪd| noun a fine, typically green stone used for ornaments and implements and consisting of the minerals jadeite or nephrite. He bought her a beautiful necklace made of jade.

If you live in the Dallas and Houston area, you probably recognize my friend, Lady Jade’s voice.  She is an incredibly talented and funny DJ for K104 fm!  I listen to her all the time! You may even recognize her interviewing Field during the commercials for Mint Dentistry.  The moment I met Jade, I knew she was special.  Beyond her long lasting, successful career, she has a deeper purpose and passion that needs to be shared with the world. If you follow her on Instagram, you’ll see that she is clearly unapologetic about her faith, has such a cute style, and truly cares about people. I genuinely love everything about her and am so excited to share a glimpse of the heart behind her recognizable voice.

1. What do you think you were put on this earth for? What’s your biggest dream in life?
I know that I was put on this earth to be a servant to others, and to love and inspire those that may feel hopeless, especially children, through the platform God has given me. I have this crazy dream that I can actually change the world one kid at a time. I would love to write a curriculum some day that prepares kids for life after graduation. Unfortunately, I feel that our school systems only prepare our children for a standardized test, but in no way is that applicable to the real world. If the subjects were made life-applicable, then maybe kids would dream again, feel more confident in pursuing outstanding careers, and the teachers would enjoy what they do more. People feel that you have to do so much to change the world, but sometimes just a hug, a smile, or a simple compliment can make all the difference.
2. What are some of the obstacles that you have had to go through to get to the point you are at now?
LOL. My, my, my…have I made plenty of mistakes. My pastor once told me that we learn more from our failures than we do from our successes, so let’s just say I learn everyday! I would say one of the toughest obstacles I endure daily is living life in the public eye. You win publicly but you also lose publicly. I recently went through a divorce, and that’s hard enough to deal with, but going through it publicly made it even tougher. Radio is a public job, so you are constantly being judged (good or bad), but I have learned over the years that to whom much is given–much is required. God has shown His mercy to me on so many occasions, so I welcome those failures, because they often inspire others to push through whatever it is they are facing at the time.
3. What motivates/inspires you?
My biggest motivation is my family! Seeing them happy and enjoying life is the greatest gift I could ever receive. Those joyful moments are the moments I live for!
4. What do you want to be remembered for?
I would like people to remember that I truly loved the Lord, that I was a good friend, that I was honest, that I wasn’t the type to go with the crowd, that I was loyal to a fault, and that I was a giver. I would want people to say, “she always made time for others, even when it wasn’t convenient, she would give her last to see her loved ones happy, and she would always give you a smile and a hug to brighten your day!”
5. What advice would you give other women searching for their purpose, passion & faith?
Find your purpose in Christ, because that is a purpose no one can take away. When we find purpose in our looks, our material things, or in our significant others, etc., then we lose our value if/when those things are no longer there. But one thing is for sure, Jesus is a constant and no matter how low or high life goes, no one can take that from you. All the rest falls into place after that. Now this is easier said than done because all these other things seem fulfilling for a minute (trust me I know), but I’ve just learned that those things can never fill your empty spaces like God can.
6. What has been your greatest achievement in life?
I’m not sure if I’ve experienced my greatest achievement yet…
7. How does what you do reflect ministry, what God placed on your heart to share with the world?
There are two things that I love about radio: Those moments when people share with you their story and let you know that it was the laugh we provided that nearly saved their life and helped them to push through, and then of course, I love visiting the schools. I’ve been to thousands of school visits and spoken to the kids and I always have them repeat affirmations. I believe (and teach them) that what they say is what shall be, so I have them repeat great things about themselves out loud. They think I’m great when I show up but my goal is to allow them to recognize that they are great before I leave and that is so fulfilling.
8. What books are you reading?
Lol I wish I had time to read…haha!
9. How do you stay encouraged and faith-filled?
I have to constantly make the time to fill myself with the Word. Of course you have your weekly fill-up on Sundays, but throughout the week I’m listening to my podcasts that include Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, and TD Jakes to try to keep my sanity lol. Sometimes when I am having a spiritual blockage a good-ole ugly cry helps too! LOL Staying faith-filled requires a daily effort, and just like everybody else, I go up and down with it. But God has a funny way of tapping me on my shoulder and telling me I’m straying off course a bit too much and I mosey right on back! Lol
10. Favorite Scripture of the moment?
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised (Proverbs 31:30). In the entertainment industry, everyone focuses so much on outter beauty. My mom always told me that I was beautiful, but she would always say, “but Jade what makes you even more beautiful is what’s on the inside.” When people meet me, they think that they’re attracted to “Jade”, but they’re really attracted to the light of God in me–and I know that without a doubt.
11) You are obviously a part of the Mint Dentistry Family!  Can you share your Mint Experience?
Mint has been my family for many years now. I’ve watched them grow from two locations to now over 20! One thing that is for sure when you walk into Mint is that you are always going to be greeted with a pleasant voice and a smile. I am so appreciative of how well Mint has taken care of my teeth, my mom’s teeth (with her beautiful veneers), and my Godson’s teeth. They always make the experience as relaxing as possible, and I always say, “they won’t hurt your mouth or your pocket book!” They provide a plush, professional environment with beautiful decor, massage chairs, Beats by Dre headphones, etc., and the craziest part is all of that is at no extra charge.  They truly love people and believe you deserve it! Thank you Mint for always providing top-quality dental care for me and my family for the low low! 😉
Thanks for thinking of me and allowing me to be a part of such an inspirational blog!
