Our Equipped by Faith sisterhood gathering is continuing to grow, with each month’s guest speaker bringing exactly what we need to move forward in faith, freedom and hope for the wonderful things ahead.

Dr. Melanie Ross Mills (a.k.a. Dr. Mel) is a nationally recognized Temperament Therapist, Relationship Expert, Author, and Life Strategist. She resides and practices in Dallas, Texas, and is led by an internal calling to help others live with intention, purpose, and self-awareness.

Melanie is an inspiration to all and a beautiful reflection of God’s love and light. Since the day I met her, the personal encouragement and wisdom she has given to me has carried such incredible weight in my own life and heart. I cherish her friendship so much because true, authentic encouragement is so rare to come by these days. Sometimes we can be such lousy sources of truth for ourselves, especially when the enemy intends to harm us. Thank God we have people, like Melanie, who remind us of the truth!

I am blessed to know her, and know that you will be blessed by her heart!

Q&A with Dr. Melanie Ross Mills

1.) What do you think you were put on this earth for? What’s your biggest dream in life?
I believe I was put on this earth to remind people of their worth and God’s great love for them.

2.) What are some of the obstacles that you have had to go through to get to this point?
Some of the biggest obstacles I have had to face in life include: postpartum depression, contemplating suicide, marital strife, raising a child with health challenges, and growing up in a non-Christian environment.

3.) What motivates/inspires you?
I get overwhelmed when I think about the fact that God chose me. He speaks to me. He loves me no matter what. I tear up just thinking about it. I still can’t believe that I know Him and He’s never left my side.

4.) What do you want to be remembered by?
How I made people feel after they left my presence. I want them to feel as if it was time well spent.

5.) What advice would you give other women searching for their purpose, passion & faith?
It begins with embracing your worth. Everything starts with knowing your worth and a grateful heart.

Once we receive (with a heart knowledge) the love of God – everything else starts to unfold. We are free to admit our true desires and passions. We are open to going where God wants to take us with our purpose. We are guided as we trust in the One who is sending us. We are free and secure.

6.) What has been your greatest achievement in life?
My thriving marriage. I would like to say my parenting, but I can’t answer than yet. The verdict is still out. LOL.

7.) How does what you do reflect ministry, and what God placed on your heart to share with the world?
My prayer is that all that I do reflects my ministry that He’s given me. I pray daily that I am intentional with my time, talent, and treasure. I see my life as a fifth Gospel. Walking out a life of ministry.

8.) What books are you reading?
I recently finished The Circle Maker for Children and Losing Control and Liking It. Both parenting books.

9.) How do you stay encouraged & faith filled?
Prayer, God’s Word, and spending time with like-minded friends who have the gift of encouragement. Limiting time with those that wrestle with a critical spirit. And of course, my husband encourages me too!

10.) Favorite Scripture of the moment?
I am currently loving Isaiah. There’s something that always speaks to me when I open the book of Isaiah up.

Isaiah 6:8 is a life verse that guides me…

“Then I heard the Lord asking, ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.'”
