GOING FOR THE GOLD
Seeing that the Olympics are on, I figured I would feature my new favorite dress! This amazing gold wrap dress was the ensemble I chose to wear to my friend Laurie’s wedding. I was so honored and humbled that Laurie asked Tiffany Hendra and myself to speak at her wedding. We chose to read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 during her wedding ceremony. Since we were a part of the wedding, Laurie asked us to stick to a black, gold, or silver color.
Seeing that Laurie is an amazing fashion stylist, I decided to go for the gold. I normally like to do most of my shopping online. Browsing from site to site can be so overwhelming sometimes! There are just so many options. The clock was ticking and I needed to find a dress immediately. I finally happened to see this dress and had it rush delivered. I knew that there would have to be alterations made.
This amazing gold wrap dress is held together by a single belt. It can be worn as a gown but also as a long cardigan. In fear of it opening up during my speech, I immediately took it to the tailor and had them add hooks according to where I wanted the dress to cover. Also, to be on the safe side, I used a lot of double sided tape so that the dress wouldn’t move around and reveal parts of myself that I don’t want the world to see! If you happen to get this dress, I recommend going a size up and altering to your body.
I paired this dress with some strappy black heels and accessorized appropriately. Seeing that the dress was metallic and had a plunging neckline, I didn’t really want to wear a statement necklace. Simpler is better.
Ultimately, it was a beautiful night spent with some of my greatest friends. Gisele opened up the Olympics in a dress that is very similar to this! You need to sport a metallic wrap dress soon!
