We are loving our summer lake house! It is the perfect place to host parties and family get-togethers, and being that it is just south of Dallas, the perfect place to get away from the busy city on the weekends.
Last weekend, we celebrated Baby Field’s 5th birthday with a Golden State Warriors “Steph Curry” basketball themed party (upon his request).
All of the party games, balloon installations, and favors were Golden State yellow and blue, along with the basketball-themed birthday cake, cake pops, and cupcakes from Cakes by Alicia.
The kids stayed busy playing on the inflatable water slides, slip and slides, a dunking booth, and the All-Star basketball hoop we rented for the party. And of course, I had to add some Mexican flavor to the event with a traditional piñata (I think it was Field’s favorite LOL).
I love that the lake house offers activities for both kids and adults—so it’s a great place to hang out with all of our friends. We spent the day laying by the pool and taking the boat and jet skis out on the lake. I’m really going to miss summer when it ends!
Until then, I’m enjoying discovering new places to eat and explore in south Dallas. Oma’s Burgers has been a regular for us when we are in town—and apparently has been a staple for this small south Dallas town for decades. We ordered burgers from them for this party (and they were definitely a party favorite).
I can hardly believe Field is already 5 years old and I’m so proud of who he is becoming. I love watching him play and practice basketball with such dedication (already at such a young age!). I love the passion he has for life. I love how he takes such good care of his little sister. I love how he looks up to his dad. And I love being his mom.
