I created a vision board as I dream big dreams for the new year, and look back on what wonderful adventures and lessons the last year has brought me.
Each year, I fill these boards with inspiring quotes, words, and verses to position my heart and mind for the year to come. Now, each year obviously goes its own way and rarely adheres to my “perfect plan”, but then I learn to be flexible once more, and to enjoy life as it comes.
“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9
Today, as I was praying for the year to come and the dreams that I am still pursuing in my own heart, I began praying for you. Praying that you would find your purpose this year as you draw closer to God and cultivate the gifts, talents and dreams He has placed inside of you.
I believe that God gives each one of us specific gifts and talents to use while we are living on this earth to minister to others. Rick Warren once said, “Any time you use your talents and gifts to help others, you are ministering.”
We find our purpose through our ministry. Each one of us, if we call ourselves Christians, is called to minister or serve others. How can you know what your ministry is? Take a look at the things you are naturally good at. What are your natural talents and gifts? It’s very likely your going to find great purpose for your life when you pursue those things that make you unique.
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
God has given each of us unique and special gifts and abilities. Look at your own heart and passions as you create a vision board for yourself, as a way to help you look into what this year could hold for you.
Above all, pursue God with all your heart. As you grow closer to Him, you’ll naturally grow closer to the purpose and plan that He has for you. He loves you and wants good things for your life (Romans 8:28)!
Praying that all of your hopes and dreams for this year will come true and bless others as God moves through you!
