confidence |ˈkɒnfɪd(ə)ns| noun [ mass noun ]1 the feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something: we had every confidence in her |she had gained the young woman’s confidence.

I used to think that confidence was something you were born with. If you were the “perfect package” (i.e. flawless body, beautiful hair, glowing skin, a well-off family–and the list goes on and on…) then, of course you would have confidence.

But, confidence really has very little to do with outward appearance. It wasn’t until after I encountered God’s unconditional love that I was able to accept (and love) who He has made me to be. Despite my flaws and my failures, one thing has been certain in my life: God’s love has given me the confidence to push past the fear of rejection and insecurity and move forward into the purpose and calling that He has on my life.

The Right Kind of Confidence
Now, confidence certainly isn’t arrogance. There is something special about someone who can walk in the self-assurance of who they are without being conceited or full of themselves. It’s called humility. Humility and confidence attract other people to you–arrogance drives them away.

Be confident in who you are, but remember to keep a grateful attitude. Thankfulness keeps us grounded, and reminds us that we are nothing without Christ. Remembering that God has given us all that we have keeps us grateful and gives us confidence that He is our source and provider!

Confidence in Our God
We should always be striving to get to a place in our relationship with God where we are fully confident in His love for us. When we can rest in His love, we can trust in His goodness and faithfulness to us. This keeps us from worry and anxiety, and allows us to live in abundance! I believe living in abundance means truly having peace of mind, complete joy and living as though you lack nothing. When you truly have confidence in the Lord and His love for you, there is no better way to live!

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:33-34

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28

Confidence to Live in Your Purpose
Sometimes it can be scary to step out and do what we feel God is telling us to do. God often times asks us to give our all, and that can be very hard! But, I promise you, there is no better way of life than in saying “yes” to all God asks of you. Living in obedience to God’s commands and the calling He has on your life is saying “yes” to a life of peace, joy and abundance.

I had to take a leap of faith about a year ago when I felt God leading me to share more of my life with others. The purpose behind creating my website was to invite other people into my world of fashion, lifestyle and faith–as a glimpse of real life, love, career goals and belief from a woman chasing after God’s own heart. My hope and desire was that all who would come searching would leave feeling inspired and full of God’s love, knowing they are called to a higher purpose.

I’m so glad I took that leap of faith, and I hope you are too!

Confidence in Prayer
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” 1 John 5:14

“So let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

We can be confident that when two or three gather together in Jesus name, God is there (Matthew 18:20). If you have a prayer need or request, I want to pray about it with you. If you are comfortable, please share your prayer request here and I will gladly stand with you to pray for what is weighing on your heart.

Let us stand together, confidently, in the love of our God.

Amen!
