BLACK HIGH LOW

Whenever I go to New York City, I always know that I am going to wear a more urban street style. People in the city are constantly walking, so comfort is definitely the most important thing. One thing you notice is everyone is always wearing black.  It may be because black is always chic and easy to wear.

When I found this top, I knew I had to have it. Mostly because you can wear it in so many different ways. The length in the back is so dramatic. Normally, I would wear some high waisted pants with this, but I thought it would be fun to play with the dimensions of the top.

A friend of mine gifted this skirt to me a long time ago, and I always admired the detail, but never wore it. I love how the length of the high low top is longer than the skirt that I paired with it. It gives it a sense of layering that is stylish. Pairing it with a shorter skirt also gives the illusion of being taller, which I definitely like!

Naturally, I wore the most comfortable black booties that I have.  When it comes to accessories, this ear cuff is seriously so fun. It looks cool with my hair up in a messy bun.  The ear cuff comes with various pieces that you hug on to your ear, to give the look of having many piercings. It’s so comfortable that you pretty much forget that it’s there.  I also accessorized this look with a gold rosary that was given to me. It’s so cute!

Ultimately this is one of my favorite looks just because it is so effortlessly thrown together, but still gives off a chic and urban vibe.  Perfect for New York!

When wearing a top like this, consider playing with the dimensions. If you are not comfortable wearing a skirt, you can easily wear this with skinny jeans and stilettos.  All in all, you’ll always be the coolest girl in the room.
