A Perfectly Pink 1st Birthday Party

Baby Camila’s 1st Birthday
pink 1 |pɪŋk| [ mass noun ] pink color, pigment, or material: soft pastel shades of pink for the perfect party.

Powder pink tutus and chiffon, bouquets of delicate flowers, hints of gold and glitter and a surprise Shetland pony. All things lovely for a perfect one-year old girl’s first birthday party.

I am still swooning over the excitement and elegance of Camila’s first birthday party. The day couldn’t have been more perfect as we enjoyed celebrating the life of my beautiful daughter with our closest friends and family.

My family drove up from Laredo to celebrate with us and our friends from the area brought their children out for the day. I knew there would be people of all ages at the party, so I worked very hard to create an atmosphere where it could be an enjoyable experience for everyone.

The friends and vendors that I worked with to create the theme, activities and decorations were wonderful and made the day go seamlessly.

Flower Backdrop, Tulle Table Skirt & Gold Nameplate
With the age of social media and photos galore, a backdrop for pictures is the latest necessity for any social occasion or party. My sweet friend, Grace created the one I used for her beautiful daughter Vivienne’s birthday. The rich, colorful flower pallet was the perfect addition to Camila’s party and made every photo we took look professional and vibrant.

Camila’s gold, wooden name plate was found on Etsy from a cute little shop that creates personalized wall hangings for homes and offices. The gold color stood out next to the brightly colored flower wall, creating the perfect accent for the perfect party! (This is also a great idea for a birthday party, because it can be re-used for room decor. This name plate is now hanging in my daughter’s room – I love it!)

A simple addition to the table decor that made the biggest difference was the Tulle Table Skirt that I found on Etsy. This piece was easy to attach to the centerpiece table and completely enhanced the look of the party. You can’t go wrong with pink tulle at a girl’s first birthday!

The Surprise Pony, Outdoor Activities & Favors
Ponies are are the perfect addition to any child’s birthday party, and I loved the company we worked with this year. Ewe Pets took care of creating a fun and safe atmosphere for the kids to enjoy the ponies while allowing the parents to mingle and talk with one another. Baby Field is now obsessed with horses and keeps asking if we can get one as a pet (not sure where we would keep one in our high-rise, but I’ll let him dream *grin*).

We also had bounce houses, face painting and balloons for the kids. We hired a bartender to make signature cocktails for adults while the children played soccer, jumbo legos and painted on large easels. We rented a mini-playhouse filled with cushiony balls for young babies to play and a giant piano mat that played music when you danced on it to incorporate fun for children of all ages.

I ordered Camila’s birthday cake from Society Bakery in town. They made the party extra special and were very easy to work with. The smash cake and cookie party favors were from Susie Cakes in Dallas. They were adorable decorations and delicious for kids and adults to enjoy!

Camila’s Outfit Details
One of my favorite parts of planning this party was picking out the perfect outfit for Camila to wear that day. My inspiration for her outfit came from the flower backdrop from my good friend, Grace. I wanted Camila to be dressed in an array of pink chiffon and tulle with hints of gold and glitter accents. She is very dainty and delicate, and looks precious in light, powder-pink colors. I loved her peach tutu from Sunday Boutique. Prior to the cake smash, Camila wore an adorable Dolce & Gabbana playsuit with a chunky taupe necklace from BéBéBijoux baby boutique and a gold crown headband from Posh Peanut Kids

I loved spending the day celebrating my daughter. Remember, family is always first priority in your life after your relationship with Christ. Celebrate who they are each day and their beautiful years in this world!

Sabrina
